Digital Fluency Session 4

Digital Fluency Session 4

Using Google Forms
We learnt how to create a Google form and the multiple uses for this. I can see this can be a great tool for getting student voice and creating learning responses. I learned how to create different types of questions and pathways. Here is the link to my practice form.

Next was Google Maps and My Maps. I dropped a pin on my place on the Barrier and imported everyone's dream holidays from a spreadsheet. Again lots of uses for learning in the classroom.

Next was Google Sheets
I learned how to use this far more efficiently. Import names, add columns, apply rules for other columns or sheets, change data, find averages, apply filters, add sparklelines, and use pixel art. I have made a pixel sheet for my students to play with on Monday.

Manipulating Data from a blog.
We then used a child's blog to gather data such as how many posts they had done and who was visiting their blog and from where. We displayed this data on a google drawing.
DLO of today's learning

Today was a day of new things, I knew nothing of Google Forms apart from having filled many in. I now know how to create my own. My Maps was completely new also and I plan to use this immediately as a tool for the students to plot where they come from on my class blog and site.  Sheets I had used but on on the surface as I didnt know how to do much of what I was taught today apart from using charts. Again I am going to go back to work and change all of my assessment tracking and data sheets to make them streamlined and use them more efficiently. Brilliant.
