Session 3 - Digital Fluency Intensive

We began with learning more about the 'Create' side of Learn Create Share. We talked about the importance of creativity and what this meant for each of us. Some of us gave examples of how our tamariki have created at our schools.
We then did a deep dive with Kent Sommerville from Point England School about drones and live streaming on You Tube. I now want a drone.
We checked our You Tube channels and Gerhard taught us how to set up play lists and embed chosen playlists/videos on our sites docs and slides. Then it was time to explore Google Drawings and Google Slides where again I learned some shortcuts and tools I did not know existed.
I made a side gadget picture for my blog which you can see to the right. I attempted a digital portrait by drawing over a photo...still in progress

I made a slide animation of a truck rolling across the screen. I will implement this with my students as I know that they will have a lot of fun and take it far beyond anything I could do.
Then it was time for making our pepehas on slides.
I have added my screencastify but my voice is distorted. Here is a preview till I get that sorted.

  1. HI Sarah
I also really enjoyed the slide animations and I'm looking forward to trying it in class. It was also good to hear about how the Create in the L,C, S model is not only digital - but it does open a world! I like your portrait!

  2. I have personally had a go at doing my own digital portrait previously but I think this is going to be a great one for my class to have a go with. I'm wondering if I can squeeze it in before the end of term.
