Then it was time to look at all of the people that could help me in my journey. We were told to think close and then think big. I had to list the people and places that would or could influence my final product. Who would be my support crew? Who would be my resource crew? Who would I hope to gain insight from?
We were then asked to add two B' (Big) from the thinkers bar. This meant adding someone big that was a dream collaborator. I chose Sheena Cameron (author of Reading comprehension and the writing book), and the Ako Hiko teachers. Dorothy then told me should've gone even bigger like a Google or Apple engineer so I added that. We then had to add one more, thinking outside of the box again. I added a language expert.
We then had to take one away that we could sacrifice. This was harder but I sacrificed the Reading Recovery teacher at our school. While she is brilliant at increasing struggling readers reading mileage and decoding, she didn't concentrate on inferential comprehension.
We were a happy bunch, getting to really examine our problem and determine our possible resources.
