The final task on our weekend hui in paradise...was to do the crazy 8's. We had to determine eight possible solutions (digital) to our problems. This was quite hard. Although we were told not to have an end point in sight, I had obviously thought about some ideas...but 8?
I jotted down my first initial ideas that I had put on my Moonshot slides - a bank of journal story questions and a site with comprehension questions that are like a digital version of the 'Key into' books. I then referred to the post it notes my colleagues had posted for more ideas. They mentioned role play, so I added ideas like a site that had videos of ESOL students asking each other questions and how they found the answers by using clue in the text.
We then went around with round stickers and chose our favourite/s on each others crazy 8 ideas. It was really surprising to me what others chose on mine. My first and second idea was what I had in my mind from the start, but everyone else liked the video ideas. We then used an eye to pinpoint our overall favourite.
We then talked about our results and what we thought of the ideas that others liked. For many it was a surprise but also some ideas on how we could use multiple ideas in a multimodal solution.
That was a our final task for this hui. It was time to pack up and head off. What an amazing weekend. We have come away with more clarity and realistic outcomes for our journey. I for one feel a bit more confident about my journeys path.
